1999 Ford Escort Mk6 Diesel Van in immaculate condition throughout having been subject to a full restoration being carried out now up for sale

DESCRIPTION

With the Mk6 being the final run of the escort range seeing any examples around today is a rare sight to behold,

The Mk6 run started production in 1995 and finished in 2002 with the Escort Van being the only remainder to then carry on production at the Halewood factory awaiting the takeover from the Transit Connect.

EXTERNAL

This example can only be described as 'out the box' a painstaking full nut and bolt restoration having been carried out on this vehicle from top to the underside and simply looks amazing.

All body panels are gleaming in Ford Diamond White paintwork(code b3) every single panel sits as the Ford body shop intended at the time of production.

Rear doors are level straight and close beautifully as well as the drivers and passenger doors

Glossy and uniformed panels front back rear and underside with a no expense tag attached to it ensuring the originality remains and the van simply is 'the best'

Colour coded front wrap around bumper houses a smiley face with 2 honey comb grills sitting centre stage along with the legendary Ford emblem

With original front headlights remaining along with all exterior black plastics in the very best of condition door handles and locks along with the manual adjustment rear view door mirrors and diesel refuelling cap

All window seals are pristine front to rear along with the door seals front and back

Original metal black rear corner bumpers remain with both sitting straight and damage free along with the original rear light units.

All badging front to rear remains positioned as Ford intended

With genuine factory optional extra mud flaps fitted to the front and rear

The underside has been fully painted and protected, all running gear front to rear has been powder coated stripped and replaced along with all new consumables from clips to suspension components

INTERNAL

This van is nothing but a show van it simply is that good, the insides brand new as you would expect having had a full nut and bolt restoration.

The front presents better than when it left Ford's factory with original black floor covering to the front showing no wear

Both front seats have been fully re-upholstered with black leather bolsters top and bottom and a subtle chequered cloth centre simply stunning with both headrests boasting the 'ford' logo stitched in white, unique and looks beautiful

Both front door cards are in very good condition with the armrest showing no wear with plastics vibrant, wind down window handles and pull open door handles sitting with no wear.

Grey headlining to the front houses a rear mounted interior light along with drivers and passengers sun visors

Black dashboard presents very well with the the glovebox tucked down to the left with a small storage box housed to the top along with a directional heater to the left

Moving to the centre of the dash a wider directional heater vents located along with directly underneath 3 rotary dials, fan speed, temperature control and directional control all working as intended

Factory fitted ford push button cd6000 music sound system remains along with the traditional classic pull out ashtray

Directly in front of the driver your presented with a grey over black binnacle display, housing within and to the left a coursery warning panel information display along with the speedometer sitting centre showing only 56299miles and to the right the fuel and temperature gauges

To the right a directional heater control vents located along with a push button switch for the rear fog light

A centre console runs between both front seats housing a leather handbrake and gear lever both showing minimal wear.

A full bulkheads fitted with a solid bottom half and mesh to the top, the rears simply spotless with original plastic side panels running down both sides enclosing the rear wheel arches and present very well

A liner complements the rear floor of the vehicle.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Having the 1753cc in line four cylinder non turbo 'Endura-de' diesel engine fitted and producing 59hp

Having been subject to a complete strip down and rebuild along with timing belt and new injectors plus diesel pump reconditioned along with all contributories powder coated simply nothing has gone untouched

Engine number remains as per original

With a 5-speed manual gearbox mated your never going to be in a hurry in this van but more of a casual gentle stroll, all gears are a delight and drives steady however this is one of the best 'plodder' diesel engine still out there today

With having a new clutch and flywheel drives smooth and precise a sheer delight to drive

WHEELS TYRES & BRAKES

Sitting beautifully on Rs 7-spoke 4-stud silver alloys with matching numbers even the spare has a matching number alloy-quite stunning

With mohawk 195/50/r15 mohawk tyres all round each with ample tread on them along with new callipers and disc brakes to the front equally new rear drums and internals to the rear all ensuring you come to a refined gradual controlled stop
