At the heart of the H1-C sits the renowned 498cc air-cooled, two-stroke inline three-cylinder engine, a layout that defined Kawasaki’s engineering ambition during this period. Fed by three carburettors, the unit develops approximately 60 brake horsepower, delivering a remarkable power-to-weight ratio that earned the model its formidable reputation.
Power delivery is characteristic and unmistakable Kawasaki, Smooth at lower revs before rapidly transitioning into an explosive surge as the engine enters its power band, accompanied by the sharp high-frequency exhaust note unique to Kawasaki triples.
Power is transmitted through a five-speed close-ratio gearbox, The H1-C benefits from Kawasaki’s oil injection system, removing the requirement for premixed fuel while ensuring accurate and consistent lubrication across all three cylinders an important feature in preserving both reliability and usability.
As the final iteration of the early H1 series, the H1-C incorporated a number of refinements over its predecessors. Revised frame geometry and improved suspension calibration contributed to enhanced straight-line stability and more predictable handling characteristics, while retaining the raw, engaging riding dynamics that define the model
Suspension is managed via telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers, complete with adjustable damping in line with factory specification. Braking is provided by drum assemblies front and rear, entirely correct for the period and integral to the bike’s authentic riding experience. The handlebar-mounted choke lever remains correctly positioned, further reinforcing its adherence to original specification.
Visually, the motorcycle delivers exactly what is expected of a high-quality H1-C. The Candy Orange paintwork presents with strong depth and vibrancy, complemented by polished chrome detailing and the signature triple exhaust configuration that defines the model’s unmistakable silhouette. The overall stance remains purposeful and aggressive, continuing to command attention in any setting.
