The Mk1 Ford Escort Mexico 1600 GT is one of the most celebrated fast Fords ever produced, born from Ford’s rallying success in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Developed to commemorate Ford’s win in the gruelling London to Mexico World Cup Rally of 1970, the Mexico combined durability, performance, and simplicity all wrapped in a lightweight, motorsport-honed package.

This rare example was built under the Ford Advanced Vehicle Operations (AVO) division at Aveley, Essex, a specialist facility tasked with producing performance-orientated models to exacting standards.
