DESCRIPTION

The Triumph Dolomite took over from the Toledo in the early seventies, Available in various guises including this particular model which was classed as the more luxurious model being the ‘HL’ version. This would appear to be one of the very last models produced with the Canley factory closing in 1980.

EXTERNAL

The Triumph Dolomite needs no introduction this model in particular has had meticulous red carpet treatment throughout its life, The Russet Brown paintwork (CODE 93) we believe to be original however we cannot confirm this, However its strongly supported by the pin sharp coach lines running front to rear, With a full chrome bumper to the front housing a grill with twin headlights along with a full length rear chrome bumper in the very best of condition, The chrome work stands bright and clean around the side door glass as do the front and rear screens. Door handles sit straight and gleaming along with the chrome twist petrol filler cap. The ‘C’ pillar trims are in Triumph black vinyl with the ‘D’ emblem sat proudly and precise. All Triumph badges displayed and sitting correctly.

INTERNAL

Step into early eighties nostalgia, Having the chrome kick panels gleaming in place once you open the drivers door your embraced by the size of the front seats covered in Light Tan cloth trim (CODE C74) which are spotless as is the rear bench seat. With matching wooden door capping’s along with light tan door cards all housing their own individual ashtray and wind up/down window handle.

The chestnut brown deep pile carpet shows little sign of wear being lovingly cared for with Triumph over mats front and rear.

The front doors housing quarter glass windows which work as intended. With an elegant walnut fascia housing tachometer, water and battery gauges, combination dial with warning lamps, electric clock, cigar lighter, hazard warning switch and clock. Having twin speed directional heater control along with a 5 push button radio. This vehicles interior remains in remarkable factory condition throughout.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Housed under the bonnet the 1500cc single overhead cam 4 cylinder engine with twin SU carburettors maintained to the highest of standards backed up with comprehensive invoices from over the years. Having a 4-speed manual gearbox which is precise and works with ease.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

Housing original silver steel pressed wheels with Triumph outer wheel nut covers shod with matching Toyo 155/80/R13 tyres on all 4 corners showing plenty of tread. With disc calliper brakes to the front and drum to the rear with vacuum assisted brakes bring you to a precise stop.  

HISTORY FILE

This particular Triumph Dolomite was first registered on the 11th June 1980 being one of the very last produced. Retaining the original bill of sale to a MR J TELFORD from Balham London and supplied by local dealer MANN  EGGERTON, With having the dealer extra of Underbody Seal applied before delivery at a cost of £49.00. Having had previous owners who have belonged to the Triumph owners club who cared for the vehicle in a loving way dedicated to keeping the vehicles originality at all costs, With masses of previous historic invoices for work carried out some from British Leyland along with detailed MOT records showing every MOT along with who owned the vehicle date and mileage. The vehicle has current MOT on it until 24th October 2024.  Every service has been documented along with details and work carried out with date and mileage this runs to nearly two A4 sheets simply amazing. Complimented with the original Leyland Cars book pack along with the original jack and wheel brace within the supplied bag in the rear. This is simply a well cared for vehicle that will sit proudly in any Triumph owners collection.
