The Ford Escort RS1600i is a legendary performance variant of the Ford Escort Mk3, produced between 1982 and 1984. Developed by Ford’s Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) team, A limited run followed with few remaining today

EXTERNAL

Having black colour coded bumpers with front and rear overriders, With a flawless mirror-like finish the Factory Ford Black unblemished paintwork will appeal to anyone wishing to show this car it's simply a stand out example, Body panels front to rear are uniform with a deep shine

Legendary RS1600i decals to the bonnet, each side and rear hatch are mark and fade free along with exterior window and door rubbers

Rs aerodynamics to the front and rear, Lower original valance spoiler to the front and rear hatch mounted rubber spoiler both equally sitting and presenting in the very best of condition

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Fitted with Fords 1600 Compound Value angle Hemispherical chamber (CVH) unit producing a manufacturer quoted 115 BHP.  Mated to the Bosch K-Jetronic Fuel Injection System and incorporating deceleration fuel shut off, the car has a top speed of 118mph and achieves 0-60 in 8.7 seconds

Engine bay information stickers are still present plus the obvious and original factory specification twin coil set up and finned cast alloy rocker cover are proudly on display

The gear changes are light and a joy to use with the unique 0.83 fifth gear ratio fitted only to the RS1600i.
