Kawasaki H1-B 500cc Triple 'Candy Orange' 1972 Classic Motorcycle
FOR SALE
JF Classic Cars are pleased to offer a rare Kawasaki H1-B 500cc Triple for sale, finished in the iconic Candy Orange and first registered in 1972. This is a bike that perfectly captures the raw energy and bold engineering of early ‘70s performance motorcycling.
At the heart of the H1-B is a 498cc air-cooled, two-stroke inline three-cylinder engine. It’s fed by three carburettors and delivers a punchy power output of around 60 horsepower, which, in a bike of this weight, makes for seriously lively performance.
The triple cylinder layout gives it that unmistakable power delivery being smooth low down, then explosive as it comes onto the pipe, paired with the signature sharp, high-pitched exhaust note these bikes are famous for.
Power is sent through a 5-speed gearbox, offering close ratios that keep the engine right in its power band. The H1-B also features Kawasaki’s improved oil injection system, eliminating the need for premixing while ensuring proper lubrication across all three cylinders.
Compared to the earlier H1 models, the B version brought refinements to handling and rideability, including revised frame geometry and suspension tuning. Up front, you’ve got telescopic forks, with twin rear shocks providing that classic ride feel. Braking is handled by a front drum brake and rear drum setup, typical of the era and part of the bike’s authentic character. Choke lever on the handlebar as it should be, dampers can be adjusted as per manufacturer specification
Visually, it’s everything you’d want from a classic Kawasaki triple. The Candy Orange paintwork is vibrant and period correct, perfectly complemented by chrome detailing, the distinctive triple exhaust setup, and that unmistakable stance that made these bikes legends.
This H1-B isn’t just a motorcycle it’s a piece of two-stroke history. A thrilling ride, a collector’s favourite, and a machine that still commands attention wherever it goes
